I have the deep down cough back, darn it. I fought it off for 5 months, but it's back. I'm bummed. This is the first day I have felt sick in a while. I guess I might have to go to the doctor.

Resistent Starch
Resistent starch according to HEALTH "promotes the burning of fat and shrinks fat cells." Amazingly enough guess what foods are rich in them? Beans, lentils, bananas, barley, potatoes, brown rice, peas, oatmeal, whole grain pasta, rye or pumpernickel bread, polenta. These should take up 1/4 of your diet along with other fruits and vegies and low-fat dairy, lean meats.

Never Give Up
That's what it takes. Focus above the fray. Don't take it personally. Enjoy the little moments of joy. Keep on keeping on! Rededicate yourself every day.

Plenty of Snacks
Snacks are important to keep your metabolism level with no dips and spikes. Good for snacks are a few nuts, an apple and a cheese stick. I like the apple and cheese stick right after school before I go home. It helps me not feel like eating the insides of the fridge when I get home. Also water is important. I keep saying this, but it is. I like a piece of celery with hummus on it too.
Nice dinner with Bob. Cheers and get ready for more snow. Eeeeek!

Organic Advantage
What are they? Better taste, more nutrition, better for the environment - those are three biggies. It's also important to eat local. Last Saturday I was trying to buy some fruit. I found fruit from Moracco (!?), Turkey, and Chile. Yikes! I choose California or Florida over those more far off places.

Water and Ice
It's still important, even in winter. Often when you're feel tired, you really just need some water. Plus I've got some go to snacks that I can grab fast.
Strange weather we had. The trees were bowed over with ice with more rain coming most of the night. Then the temperature somehow rose and the ice melted from the trees before morning. We really dodged a bullet and were actually able to go to school. The kids were stinky though. One snow day and they have forgotten everything. Yikes!
I heard the the groundhog did not see his shadow, so we'll have an early spring. Here's hoping that's true. I've had it with this winter.

Ice Storm
Yep, we got it. I'm determined to make good use of this day. It looks very glossy out there.
Has anybody ever heard of this website: thehealthypantry.com
You mail order food - it's basically the prep work of cutting up the vegies/herbs. You buy the meat or seafood to put in it. It's worth a try for those nights when nothing's ready and you don't feel like cooking something complicated.
Also does anybody subscribe to those services that delivery fresh vegies/fruit to your door every month? I think we have a local one, but I haven't tried it yet.
