Growing Tomatoes from Seed

I have some good looking plants under lights. I like growing the heirlomb varieties like Arkansas Traveler, Brandywine, Green Zebra, and Rutgers. I love Sun Gold cherry tomatoes. I can't wait to have real tomatoes again.

Activity=Exercise

Get in some activity every day. Always have a backup plan. If it's raining, then do something indoors. It helps your mental attitude.

Have a good week,

More Responsibility

We must face the fact that we must take on more responsibility for our own good health than we used to do. One cannot depend on your doctor, no matter how good. Doctors are trained to treat illness, not to help you stay well.

Nice Birthday

It was a good day. I did all things I like doing. Heard some good music, worked in my gardens, ate a good dinner cooked by B. One more day to get things done before we're back for the final push.

I went to my WW meeting yesterday to get re-psyched. Onward to health,

Morels

A friend spotted some morels growning IN MY YARD! We picked them and I fixed them last night. I had never seen one or eaten one. She gave me a recipe. They were delicious. We picked 7 morels. I gave three to my next door neighbor as she is a wonderful cook. Anyway... check your yards. You may have a treasure. By the way, you have to pay $60/pound for these when you can get them.

Track

So, you have to cook to eat healthy. You have to track what you eat to eat healthy. You can track online or on paper, but you got to do it.

Spring Break - Eat at Home More Often

Hi all you health fanatics,
I took a little blog break. I'm back and let's rededicate ourselves to getting healthy now that spring has sprung. Weird winter, wasn't it? I have lots of new tips and tricks.

First let's talk about planning - you have to do it! Sit down before you go shopping and plan out what you're going to eat. Statistics say that most American's eat out most of the time. If you eat at home just 2-3 nights a week, you can eat healthier. You don't have to be a master chef to use your kitchen to make dinner. Collect a couple easy recipes from friends or Eatingwell.com and master them. Then make your own variations. My husband doesn't even follow a recipe. He has mastered a few basic skills, like making pasta. He has mostly taught himself by trial and error.

Happy Spring Break,
Sue
